The Small Christian Community Pastoral, Ecclesial Model of Church in Africa Today
Week One (Tuesday, 7 January, 2020):
- Self-introduction of participants. Introduction to Small Christian Communities (SCCs). Situating SCCs in the context of ecclesiology.
- In small communities of five people each read and reflect on the Gospel of the following Sunday (12 January, 2020. Baptism of the Lord. Gospel: Matthew 3:13-17).
Week Two (Tuesday, 14 January, 2020): African Ecclesiology from a Small Christian Community Perspective.
Week Three (Tuesday, 21 January, 2020): Equipping African laity with reflection tools to theologize on the SCCs Model of Church from the grassroots.
Week Four (Tuesday, 28 January, 2020): Practicum (date, time and location to be decided by the participants)
- Participate in a weekly SCC in the neighborhood.
- Evaluation
Week Five (Tuesday, 4 February, 2020)
- African laity theologizing in SCCs.
- Final evaluation and the way forward.
NOTE: Participants are welcome to write their final paper of 2,500 words on a topic related to Small Christian Communities in Africa.
